First time to the USA
This month will see me travel to the USA for the first time to attend the Global Hapkido Championships.
It will be an amazing opportunity and I'll be travelling with my first Hapkido Instructor Master Angus Uebergang.
I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a little nervous, excited, but nervous.
The last three and a half years have been an amazing roller coaster for me and the Dojang. Life has a funny way of not letting you get used to anything before it changes again.
I go to the US to of course visit the Championships, but most importantly to meet with some of the best Hapkido instructors in the world to discuss where the future of Hapkido lies.
I truly believe that the reason that Hapkido hasn't grown as much as it could because of people stuck in the old ways. Moving forward, using the example of other global martial arts, the Global Hapkido Association has an opportunity to bring Hapkido to where it belongs.
Let's see what the happens in the weeks ahead. Regardless of what happens, there will always be a story to tell.
